It is an adaption of Yashraj 1969 hit. Story begins with the chase sequence where U.K based writer Vikram(Siddharth Malhotra) is on run where he is suspected to kill his wife. Now in order to get away from police he finds shelter in the mysterious house with mysterious women Maya(Sonakshi Sinha).Here he is apprehended where he is caught by police next to body of Maya's husband Shekhar Sinha. Soon Vikram is charged of double murder and this case is assigned to officer Dev(Akshay Khanna), who has target to solve this case in three days. While investigation he finds two sides of stories from Vikram and Maya and simple and shut down case turns out to be more critical.
Ittefaq has turned out to be no marketing strategy film. This is dare decision which is taken by creative people of film in today's promotion fights. As a writer I will give 100 out of 100 marks to story since it is written in a much smoother manner than expected which doesn't require marketing and all stuff.Film is without any songs which has helped background music to give strong inputs to the story. Background music sometimes reminded me movie Kaun(1999) written by Anurag Kashap. Much higher octane drama creates mystery of the story till the end of movie and secret which is finally out at the end is much shocking.
Good to watch multitalented Akshay Khanna after a long time. He plays role of police officer who is targeted to solve case in 3 days. His character plays interrogation process in much chilled manner.
Sonakshi is just Ok. Siddharth Malhotra has taken time to get into character of accused husband but he hits right emotions and patches to character.
Finally Akshay Khanna and the story is ultimately winner.

१९६९ ला आलेला ITTEFAQ आणि २०१७ च्या सिनेमा मध्ये रचना सारखीच आहे पण कथा वेगळी आहे . लंडन चा सुप्रसिद्ध लेखक विक्रम (सिद्धार्थ मल्होत्रा ) वर स्वतःच्या पत्नीचा हत्येचा आरोप होतो आणि तो स्वतःला पोलीसांपासून वाचवण्यासाठी एका रहस्यमयी आणि गूढ घरात शिरतो. त्या घरात त्याची गाठ माया (सोनाक्षी सिन्हा ) शी पडते. पण एका आरोपापासून सुटका होण्याच्या आधीच दुसरा आरोप त्याच्यावर येतो.त्या रहस्यमयी घरात शिरताच त्याला माया चा पती शेखर चा मृतदेह दिसतो आणि तो दुसऱ्या गुन्ह्याखाली पोलीसांच्या ताब्यात जातो.ही केस देव(अक्षय खन्ना ) कडे सोपवली जाते आणि ३ दिवसात ती निकाली काढण्याचे आदेश त्याला येतात.त्याच्यासमोर विक्रम आणि माया ह्यांच्या दोन वेगवेगळ्या कथा येतात आणि तो गोंधळून जातो आणि ३ दिवसात निकाली काढण्याची केस किचकट होऊन जाते.
पोलीस अधिकाऱ्याच्या भूमिकेत अक्षय खन्ना सहज रुळतो. सोनाक्षी सिन्हाला का सिनेमा मध्ये घेतले कळत नाही. सिद्धार्थ मल्होत्रा ला अजून अभिनय जमला असता.
सिनेमाच्या कथेला मी १०० पैकी १०० मार्क देईन.कथा शेवटपर्येंत सस्पेन्स टिकवून ठेवते जे सिनेमाच्या अखेरीस प्रेक्षकांना धक्का देते.सिनेमा चे पाश्वसंगीत कथेच्या गूढतेमध्ये मनसोक्त भर घालते.सिनेमाच्या creative टीम ला मी १०० मार्क देतोय कारण सिनेमाचे कुठेही मार्केटिंग न करता कथेच्या जोरावर त्यांनी सिनेमा चे प्रदर्शन करण्याचे धाडस केले.
शेवटी सिनेमा ची कथा जिंकते...
